Pennsylvania School Bus Aide Charged with Sexual Assault of Special Needs Teen

A school bus aide in Pennsylvania has been arrested and charged after allegedly sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl with special needs and appearing to record her with his cellphone, according to law enforcement.

Ali Khan, 62, faces multiple charges, including endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, indecent assault, and related offenses, as announced by the Bensalem Township Police Department.

Khan is currently being held at the Bucks County Correctional Facility. His bail was set at $500,000, but he failed to post the required 10%.

Investigation Details Emerge

The investigation commenced after the girl’s parents contacted police on Thursday, July 30, to report that their daughter had allegedly been inappropriately touched by a bus aide earlier that same day.

Investigators determined that Khan allegedly made inappropriate contact with the Bensalem High School student on multiple occasions across two days: Wednesday, July 29, and Thursday, July 30. These incidents reportedly occurred while the student was riding a bus to the school’s extended school year program.

Surveillance footage from inside the bus played a crucial role in the investigation. Police stated the video appeared to show Khan directing the student to a specific seat before allegedly touching her inappropriately both while securing her seatbelt and after she was seated. The footage also reportedly showed Khan engaging in sexual conduct and using a cellphone to photograph or record the girl.

Police and School District Respond

The Bensalem Police Department issued a statement commending the victim for her courage in reporting the assault. They also extended their gratitude to the Bensalem School District for their assistance in the investigation, emphasizing that the safety and well-being of students remains a top priority for both the police department and the school district.

In response to the allegations, the Bensalem Township School District confirmed that the employee was immediately removed from his position and from the district. This removal is pending the outcome of both criminal and administrative investigations.

“The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority,” the district stated. “Whenever concerns involving student safety are brought to our attention, we act immediately to protect students, support families, and cooperate fully with law enforcement. We are committed to conducting a thorough administrative review while respecting the integrity of the criminal investigation.”

The district further affirmed its full cooperation with the Bensalem Township Police Department, pledging to continue assisting law enforcement as requested. Additionally, the district will pursue its own administrative investigation in accordance with established Board policy, district procedures, and applicable law.

Khan’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 11, 2026. Authorities indicate that the incident remains under active investigation.
